as we all know, the lord jehovah causes expectation to arise regarding certain dates.
these expectations have usually resulted in the members of the organization, erroneously, expecting the apocalypse to arrive on those dates.
1914 was such a year.
thanks guys. my stomach is really upset now. at least i am not alone. but, oh my god...my family still believes the org and shuns me. what a sad, sad thing. my best defense is not thinking about how the org has let me down. but i must need to be here as you see, here i am. this site brings up all the reasons i removed myself from their grasp and also reinforces my conviction to stay away. i am very happy this place exists for us all who need it.

for me, total disillusionment. now i must get old and accept that all the 'things' i gave up as a child, teenager, etc were for nothing.

look inside yourself. you have all the answers. there is no need to "believe" in anyone or anything. develop your own personal relationship with the divine. stop looking for some'body' to show you the path.

for me, it was an elder telling me i was progressing really well when my meeting attendance was down and my field service hours were slipping.

its about a video tape that you watch and then seven days later you die!

the scriptures are some of the oldest books in the world known to man with dates included now how do you suppose that can be, that these books have survived this long, many thousands of years ?
hmmmmmm i don't see any other book on the shelf as long as this book not even any other history book as far as that goes, now i wonder why a book that supposedly is nothing more than a lie or uninspired as some of you put it would survive that long.
i wonder how christianity has lasted as long as it has if it is all just a lie.
KGB, I cannot accept that a supreme deity alleged to have created the human race and to be concerned for its welfare would inspire men to be judgMENTAL towards one another over nationality, wearing apparel, what they eat, when they work or do not work, or any other frivolous things that the scriptures inspire.

They wanted her to sign a paper to send to NY to take her off the pioneer list. they wanted her to resign. My dad told them she was sleeping they would have to come back later and talk to her in person. Well they never did, we found out later that one of the elders forged her name and sent it off.
